DIY Halloween Costumes

Sick of going as a witch for Halloween? Make your own costume this year with these easy instructions. You'll save time and money—to spend on candy, of course.

Some people think that cutting eye holes in a white sheet is what a do-it-yourself Halloween costume looks like. But, going DIY on October 31 doesn’t have to be lame. Get creative this Halloween with these unique, easy-to-make costumes that are sure to win you "most original" at whatever party you go to!

Bubblegum Stuck to a Shoe:
1. Raid your closet and find a pink pair of leggings, a pink tee-shirt, and an old (but clean) shoe or flip-flop that you're willing to part with.
2.Glue the shoe, bottom-side down, to a wide headband.
3.Use a can of pink temporary hair color on your hair. After it dries, put on the headband you just made.
4.Paint your nails a wild pink color and accessorize with pink bangles and necklaces.

’80s Pop Star:
1.Look through your closet for a short, bright-colored skirt, an old sweatshirt that you're willing to part with, a tank top, and a pair of colorful leggings.
2.Put on the skirt with the leggings and tank top. Take the sweatshirt and cut a wide hole where the neck is. The hole should be big enough for the sweatshirt to fall off of one shoulder as you wear it.
3.Throw your hair up with a scrunchie into a side ponytail and accessorize with bright bracelets, chunky necklaces, and sparkly makeup.
4.Slip on a pair of old-school Converse sneakers and head over to the nearest party.

Toga:
1.Find an old white bedsheet and wrap it around your body length-wise one and a half times. Take the remainder of the fabric and throw it over your shoulder.
2.Secure the fabric over your shoulder with a pretty gold brooch and cinch in your waist with a gold braided or chain belt to make sure your toga doesn't come undone.
3.Use some fake ivy from your local craft store and glue it to a skinny headband. Leave your hair down and put on the headband.
4.Find a pair of gold gladiator sandals and slip them on. For makeup, apply thick smoky eyeliner with gold eye shadow. Keep your makeup dramatic for an authentic but sexy look.
